Templates

The Templates Tab allows you to visualise every template added to your installation. This allows you identify your template quickly and even scroll through it for a global overview.

You can also edit directly using quick action buttons such as: edit, visibility conditions and reset.

From here you can also add a Custom Template or be directed to the Editor to create a Default Template.

By default, only the Index template is displayed.

Custom Template

Add

A Custom Template is a Template you create directly from the Cwicly Themer. It has no pre-defined conditions so it will not be applied until you set up your own conditions.

This allows you to set up complex conditions tailored to your specific needs and requirements.

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the Template tab.

  • Click "+ Custom" button to open the New Custom Template Modal.

  • Input Custom Template name.

  • Click Create button.

  • The new Custom Template will be visible in the Themer.

Delete

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the Template tab.

  • Find Page/Post to be deleted.

  • Click Trash icon to delete.

Rename

A Custom template can be renamed from the Templates Editor.

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the Template tab.

  • Click "+ Default" button to open the Templates Editor.

  • Click "Add New" button to open the Add New modal.

  • Find Default Template to be renamed.

  • Click "Actions" icon and select "Rename" option.

  • Input new name in the Rename field.

  • Click "Save" button to save or "Cancel" button if you decide to keep former name.

Default Template

A Default Template is a Template you can choose from a selection of pre-set template types such as Index, Front Page, Page, Archive, Search, 404.

Conditions are added by default.

Add

When you open the Templates window you will see a list of the templates you have added.

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the Template tab.

  • Click "+ Default" button to open the Site Editor Templates window.

  • Click "Add New" button to open the Add New Template modal.

  • Select Default Template to be added (Front Page, Page, Archive, Search, 404).

Remove

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the Template tab.

  • Click ""+ Default" button to open the Templates Editor.

  • Click "Add New" button to open the "Add New" modal.

  • Find Default Template to be removed.

  • Click the "Actions" icon and select "Delete" option.

Reset

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the Template tab.

  • Find Default Page to be deleted.

  • Click Reset icon to reset.

  • Click "Add New" button to open the Add New modal.

  • Find Default Template to be renamed.

  • Click "Actions" icon and select "Rename" option.

  • Open the Rename window and input new name.

  • Click "Save" button to save or "Cancel" button to keep former name.

Quick Action Buttons

Edit

The Edit button allows you to navigate to a template which you can edit directly, saving valuable time.

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the Template tab.

  • Navigate to the template you wish to edit.

  • Click "Edit" icon to open the Editor.

  • Make changes as required.

Set Visibility conditions

Visibility conditions allow you to set the rules that determine the conditions under which a template is applied to the current queried element.

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the Template tab.

  • Navigate to the template for which you wish to set Visibility conditions.

  • Click "Visibility Conditions" icon to open the Editor.

  • Make changes as required.

Delete/Reset

Allows you to quickly delete a custom template or reset a default template.

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the template tab.

  • Navigate to the Template to be deleted.

  • Select the Trash or Reset icon depending on the template type (custom or default).

Duplicate

To say time, you can copy a template easily using the Duplicate function.

  • Navigate to the Wordpress Dashboard

  • Find Cwicly.

  • Open the template tab.

  • Navigate to the Template to be copied.

  • Click the "Duplicate" icon to open the Duplicate modal.

  • Input name for new copied template.

  • Click "Duplicate" button.
