# Axes

The Axes property allows you to modify an axis for a variable font.

Two options are available, stretch and slant and others can be added as required.

### Stretch&#x20;

* Select a block.
* Open the Block Inspector.
* Navigate to the Primary Tab or the Design tab.
* Open the Typography Tab.
* Find the Axes property.
* Enter the desired stretch.
* Click dot to reset.

### Slant

* Select a block.
* Open the Block Inspector.
* Navigate to the Primary Tab or the Design tab.
* Open the Typography Tab.
* Find the Axes property.
* Enter the desired slant.
* Click dot to reset.

### Custom

Other Axes can be added to a variable font as required.

* Select a block.
* Open the Block Inspector.
* Navigate to the Primary Tab or the Design tab.
* Open the Typography Tab.
* Find the Axes property.
* Click the "+" icon.
* Input custom axe (weight, width, size, italic etc).

* The new tag will now appear under Axes in the block inspector.
