The Filter Editor allows you to construct and modify a filter for a Wordpress Query by Target (colour, size, etc), Filter Type, Data Source, Data Type.
Select filter
block.
Open the Block Inspector.
Navigate to the Primary tab.
Find the Filter Editor.
Click to open the Filter Modal.
The Query ID allows you to specify the identity of the Query you wish to filter.
You can find the ID of the Query you wish to filter by opening the Query Editor and locating the Query ID.

The Target uses the URL parameter that you have specified for the specific parameter you want to filter inside the query, for example colour, size, tags, categories.

The Filter Type property allows you to select the type of filter you wish to apply to your query. These may be general, for example select, custom, button single, button multiple or specific, for example user selection, clear selection, range selection.

custom: for input blocks (currently).
button single: any type of block can be inserted inside, but there is a wrapper that triggers the filtering on user interaction.
button multiple: any type of blocks can be inserted inside, but there is a wrapper that triggers the filtering on user interaction.
user selection: adds a dynamic block and sets user selection.
clear selection: resets the specific query filtering back to the original query.
range selection: allows you to use a range slider for pricing etc or number of products.

Select required filter type.
The Data Source property allows you to choose the Source you wish to use, such as Static, Dynamic and User Input.

Select Static, Dynamic or User Input as required.
The Count Items property allows you to count the number of items in your filtered selection.
Count Items can be toggled on or off.

Toggle on/off as required.
When the “show in selection” property is toggled, it displays the items that the user has selected in the filter.
This option is typically used in conjunction with the “user selection” filter type.
Once the user selects a filter item, it will appear in their selection, which is displayed through the “show in selection” option.
In summary, the “show in selection” property allows the user to view the items they have selected in the filter, and it works alongside the “user selection” filter type to achieve this functionality.

The Selection Prefix property allows you to add a prefix to your filter, for example 'from...', 'only...' .

The Selection Suffix property allows you to add a Suffix to your filter, for example '...tax free' .

The Taxonomy property allows you to refine the parameters you select to determine your filter. This includes taxonomy, parent, include, exclude, order by, order, use field. You can also toggle whether it should be childless or not, and whether to hide empty or not.
The Taxonomy property can be selected when Dynamic is selected as the Data Source.
This will open a modal with a number of different parameters including: Taxonomy, Parent, Include, Exclude, Order by, Order, Use field, Childless, Hide Empty.
Set Data Source to Dynamic in the dropdown.
Set Data Type to Taxonomy.
The Taxonomy parameter allows you flexibility over the taxonomy parameters you would like to include in your filter.
Find Taxonomy.
Select required parameter(s).
The Parent parameter allows you to select the parameters you want to select as parents.
Find Parent.
Select required parameter(s).

The Include parameter allows you to include selected taxonomies or terms.
Find Include.
Select terms or taxonomies to include.

The Exclude parameter allows you to exclude selected taxonomies or terms.
Find Exclude.
Select terms or taxonomies to exclude.

The Include parameter allows you to filter by a specific parameter. These include: Term Name, Term Slug, Term Group, Term ID, Term Description, Term Parent, Term Count, Meta Value, Numeric Meta Value, None.
Term Name: order by a specific name.
Term Slug: order by the part of the URL that explains the content.
Term Group: order by a set of terms that all share common requirements.
Term ID: order by the ID of a term in the terms table.
Term Description: order by the description of a given term.
Term Parent: order by the parent of the term.
Term Count: order by term count.
Meta Value: order by meta value.
Numeric Value: order by numeric value.

The Order parameter allows you to select the order of your filter, Descending or Ascending.

The Use Field parameter allows you to add custom fields to your filter, including: Count, Description, Name, Term ID, Slug, Taxonomy, Term taxonomy ID.

Select fields to add (Count, Description, Name, Term ID, Slug, Taxonomy, Term taxonomy ID).
The Use Field parameter allows you to return a taxonomy that has no children. It can be toggled on or off.
Find Childless.
Toggle as required.
The Hide Empty parameter allows you to hide empty categories. It can be toggled on or off.
